Who'd a thought that by the end of this week the whole world would be talking about the death of Michael Jackson! Now I don't wanna go off on one, like everybody who's got a social network profile has been doing today, but I do feel that I should share this with my fellow readers.
6 Months ago if some mentioned MJ you thought of, Child molestation and law suites.
Today on Friday 26th June 2009 as people woke to Sky News this morning, suddenly they realised how much the guy has given us. Just take a look at the back catalogue MJ has produced over the years!
Not only has he inspired so many of today's greatest artists the "King of Pop" who remember sold out everyone of his "Goodbye" tour dates in minutes, is no longer with us.
I can't help but feel 'we' the public and the media have forced him to work to death. Desperate for money, a ridiculous 50 tour dates in the UK and a new studio album at the age of 50, this guy died young thanks to us. Mealy misunderstood, I find it funny how everyone seams to have suddenly forgotten about what they used to think about this amazingly talented performer and made a complete U-turn.
I'm not a religious person TBH but my thoughts are with the Jackson family, especially his three children and a urge the media to stay far, far away from them and give them all the space and time they need. It is the least we could do for them, after all his blood is on all our hands!
The most popular theme I can relate today with is when Princess Diana past away. Now that may seam extreme, but every person I speak to are relaying "Where they were when they heard the news" and that is exactly the same!
Fame is a scary thing and Michael himself has been quoted saying he would end up the same way as Elvis, in an early grave!
From me Michael:- Thank you for entertaining us through out your short lived life. Your music will live on forever, always inspiring new artists and keeping the industry alive.
God may you Rest In Peace.
